LE TON MITÉ is the project of McCloud Zicmuse.
Originally from Olympia, Washington (USA), lives in Brussels (BE).
His elegantly orchestrated pop compositions and jingles,
take you into his colorful and wild universe
inhabited by bearded clouds, trees, and spirits.
His music is personal and refined, rich and essential, of a strangy beauty.
Frequent collaborator with groups like Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Microphones & Tenniscoats, ZICMUSE has been invited as a guest bassoonist by Mt. Eerie, Chris Cohen, Félicia Atkinson, Club des Chats, Congotronics vs Rockers (Deerhoof, Konono No.1, et al.).
This is the CD version of the limited edition LP version of the work called:
"Version d'un ouvrage traduit", featuring six bonus tracks not found on the LP.
File under: orchestrated folk, mini songs, odd, all the soft tones you wish you had.

An unusual set of pop compositions from Brussels-based Le Ton Mite, short vignettes blending compositional and folk elements into lovely miniatures, graced with a personal and idiosyncratic style reflected in the collage art covering the album.

"Pezzi poetici e visionari di un folk orchestrale a tratti minimale e raffinatissimo ma anche sapientemente increspato da dissonanze, cacofonie scomposte e improvvisazioni tanto fantasiose quanto conturbanti. Un ricco e bizzarro catalogo sonoro, composto da strumenti insoliti (cello, clarinetto, tastierine e la più ampia gamma di percussioni), per accompagnare testi infantili, elegiaci, soavi e naif.

Piu che canzoni vere e proprie quelle di Zicmuse sono acquerelli dai colori vivaci che quasi mai arrivano ai tre minuti di durata, ma che riescono a inebriare anIma e cervello come il profumo delle rose a primavera.
Sono moti d'animo in miniatura, canzoncine (nel senso migliore del termine) trasudanti passione che, tuttavia, appaiono sghembe e quasi naturalmente s'interrompono sul più bello.

"Stravagante fin nel nome, un altro incredibile personaggio assolutamente da conoscere.
Originario di Olympia ma successivamente trasmigrato, prima in Francia e poi in Belgio.
Strutturalmente le canzoni di Le Ton Mité sono nonsense, filastrocche e/o marcette disarticolate e zappiane,
naturalmente mi riferisco al primo Zappa, quello di “Absolutely Free”,
miniature minimali in forma libera e svincolate da qualsiasi cliché.
Sono puro oro grezzo fresco di miniera."
